Running a pro bono legal program is all about lawyers, but it’s really about lawyers as volunteers. You need to be skillful at persuading, motivating, guiding, organizing, and thanking. And that puts you in the middle of the professional field of volunteer management. But chances are you were handed this role without much formal training. In this webinar, you’ll be introduced to the 12 elements of successful volunteer engagement and see your work in a wider context. You’ll get many practical tips for working smarter and out-of-the-box (but doable!) ideas for sharing your responsibilities with specially recruited volunteer leaders. Discover the wealth of resources (and colleagues) available online and in your local community to make your work easier and more effective.
Learning Objectives: At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

• List the 12 elements of successful volunteer
management
• Assess whether they are using their limited time to best
advantage in coordinating pro bono volunteers
• Conceptualize how leadership volunteers who are not
lawyers can help with program coordination
• Describe at least 5 different resources on volunteer
management available online and locally
